Hey Will good to see you back! Hope the gym isn't too packed for long (remember, those New Year's ppl will be getting out soon *grin*) and we can see you get into some good stuff. Billy's suggestion of TT was a good one, I don't recommend Afterburn quite yet for you. You can also email me and we can work together to get a great workout set up, totally up to you.

My first thought was, "30 pounds in 60 days?Nah," but then I was thinking, actually, it's possible for you. So long as the only Wendy's junk you shove in your system is the air or the chili, you find some great fruits and veggies, and start logging what you're eating for our benefit and yours.

Siscoe's tough love called you out. You gotta realize that fast food is pure junk. There's nothing good in that stuff, unless you like heart attacks, diabetes, and living off pills for the rest of your life. In the long run, those "Value Meals" provide no value whatsoever. AND INSIDE, YOU KNOW THAT. The first two to four weeks will be the hardest. Devote yourself to them, and it will get easier. I promise!

Yeah, I'm an ass. I'm also generally right, but that's besides the point.

Websites to look at include:
http://www.t-nation.com/
http://www.menshealth.com/
http://www.mensfitness.com/

For a specific listing of workout programs built by people who know, try this thread in the fitness forum at Men's Health:
http://forums.menshealth.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/855109121/m/156108723

Go to the second post by Cynic - it's got starter routines. All of them are pretty quality, although I can profess to having only done 7 of them.

As for the Bill thing - my bad. I saw Billy's post, then thought Will, and for whatever reason transposed the letters.

Good luck (although luck has nothing to do with it).

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback and (re)welcome.

Yeah, dumbbells are my friend, and I'll be transitioning into them more and more. The only reason I didn't use them this workout was because the gym was packed and all the benches were in use.

Siscoe:

Gotta be honest, man, my first reaction was to call you an ass and write you off, but maybe that "tough love" approach is worth something. So, I'll now call you an ass and take what you said into consideration.

However, if you could pass on some information on where to find a "find a routine made by a professional" instead of just calling my work garbage, that would help.

And my name's not Bill.

Made my day to see you return. As these guys said, just work on what you've covered - the workouts seem good. As Billy said, maybe a goal would be to get into freeweights, but I think it's a good idea to stick on the machines until you get PERFECT form, they force you to get those motions down and I think there's something to be said for that.

Just don't give up on us - we've made it clear that we're not giving up on you. There's only one way to find out if you can hit that goal, right?

Hey man glad to see a post. I thought we had lost you. Your a pretty big guy so I would say you could loose weight pretty fast. Don't forget to get in some cardio a daily long walk would probably blast some pounds off ya. Anyway man keep at it and stay away from wendy's. That shit is no good for anyone. The Hawks are needing you in your 2xl up in the hawk nest cranking up the 12th man.

Hi Bill. I saw your posts over at teh Men's Health forums, and thought I would follow your progress. You had fallen off the planet as you say, so I figured you had given up. That's pretty common. It's nice to see you haven't.

A few things. First of all, you used the word 'delicious' to describe the Wendy's garbage you were ingesting. I find that odd, as when I think of food that will kill me far earlier than I should actually die I use words like garbage. I'm not going to lie - you need to kill that mindset. Which means you need to learn how to cook, and cook healthily. You'd be amazed how good real food can taste, as opposed to the processed, space-age pseudo food you're consuming at the crap factory you call Wendy's.

Seriously, change the mindset. Immediately. Otherwise, you're always going to look at that as a 'weakness', and eventually succumb. I know this, because it's already happened.

Second - you NEED to find a pre-made routine. That routine is awful. You're devoting as much work for your back (one of your largest muscle groups) as you do for your biceps (one of your smallest). If your goal is fat loss, doing sets of 10 for your arms is the ultimate waste of time. Machines are no good either, but start slowly if you need to and work up to free weights. Either way, find a routine made by a professional. You wouldn't perform open heart surgery on yourself - why do you think you can create an appropriate fitness program?

I'm sorry if this seems harsh - you appear to a genuinely good guy, and I'd like to help you if you need and want the help. I tried and failed a few times before I discovered my healthy lifestyle - and I've never been happier, so I know there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Good luck.

Holy $%)# you're back!

Glad you made it back, I was worried. Something is possible in the next 60 days. For a guy your size? Who knows. 30 pounds isn't that far fetched.

Yeah, you definitely want to emphasize your leg and back muscles, those are your largest muscle groups and will give you the most bang for your weight loss buck.

I'd also like to see you get out of those machines and into some free weights, but as always, be careful.
