will! its sophieeee. that is so awesome! under 419! that must be a great feeling. you're doing so well already.. nice work!

i just wanted to second the nomination someone gave of measuring yourself along with your weigh-ins. i meet about once a month with my fitness coach (she's kind of forgetful, but i try to make it once a month) for a full body comp. when i started at my gym, i would just kick off my shoes and get on her scale once every two weeks. seeing those numbers shift up and down was KILLING ME. it actually sent me into angry tirades where i'd eat crap and sit on the couch yelling at myself, "i can gian weight sitting at home eating the things i LIKE, why should i even work out or try at all?!"

it was very discouraging. and i dont know if it's just the position of the freakin moon sometimes, but there are days nothing i do will make those numbers go down. that's why i'm happy for my body comps. they do include getting on the scale, but also measurements are taken with tape at my arms, thighs, chest and waist. i also squeeze a little gadget that tells me my body fat percentage, which goes down even when the numbers on the scale don't.

the fact is, what with packing in protein after your weight-lifting, you are gaining heavier muscle weight. so watching measurements can be more encouraging than scale numbers alone.

its been ten months since i hit my "that's IT" mark and started really trying to lose weight and joined a gym. ten MONTHS, and i've only lost 17 MEASELY little pounds! but! i've lost 1.5 inches off each arm and six off my waist alone. that is a great feeling. yes, i had to buy new pants. another great feeling. i am very small, so the weight just isnt coming off as quickly as i'd hoped. but i try to think of it this way... it took a few years for me to pack it all on, so its ok if it's slow coming off. at least it's never coming back!

your gym should have someone who can do a body comp for you on a regular basis. you might opt for a guy just for comfort's sake, but whatever works. i encourage you to try this! my coach also tracks the numbers of all my body comps and it is AWESOME to be able to have a reference point from last time to show my progress. and you are making progress! keep it up buddy! :) soon you'll be wearing all your old favorite shirts!
