One Step Forward, Two Steps Back
Today’s Weigh-In: 336.6 pounds
Days Till Next Mini-Goal: 14
Pounds To Go: 6.6
The interview on Wednesday went really well, and so yesterday they offered me the job!!! I had a meeting today with one of the team leaders to fill out some paperwork, went a peed in a cup afterwards, and now wait to start work on Monday, September 8th.
Good – nay, great freaking news, but after I got the news, yesterday became a textbook example of what not to do nutritionally:
I was up pretty late the night before (working on the 4XLT redesign, actually), and so got a comparatively late start on the day. I didn’t eat breakfast (or, brunch might be more correct), so after the hiring manager called to deliver the news late that morning, I immediately wanted to celebrate…
…which I promptly did by eating at my favorite Indian place with a buddy. Even though I avoided any rice, it was still a two-plate meal with plenty of nan bread. I was stuffed, and felt so bad about it that I didn’t eat anything until 7:30 that evening. Then, I dropped the ball again by eating two slices of birthday cake at 9:30 at night, along with two cookies.
It’s no surprise my weight jumped up from the mid 333s back to 336. But the actual numbers aside, this is just indicative of a larger fight I’m in lately.
Getting Back to Where I Should Have Been All Along
My weight loss has plateaued significantly in the past two weeks. Though my nutrition has been spot on as of late, the weight loss has effectively stopped here in the mid 330s. I’ve got a number of reasons, and I’ll be blogging them this weekend.
A big, big part of that, I believe, is directly tied to my absence at the gym over the past month. But this week, I have begun getting back in the groove of a regular, planned weight training regimen combined with HIIT cardio sessions. I was starting to see the weigh ins go down until this morning, but all I can do now is stand back up and keep going.
So that means today is more cardio, and the weights are tomorrow morning.
Here we go… again.
