Overhead squats and cleans are awesome lifts. I love/hate both of them (love them because they work great, hate them because they're hard). Just make sure you warm up your shoulders before you do the OHS as you can tweak your muscles pretty bad if you don't. I didn't warm up enough one time and ended up with a migraine due to pinching the nerve in my shoulder. Bad times.

@Stages: Yeah, momentum is huge. It's like Newton's first law of physics at work in our lives - an object in motion tends to stay in motion unless acted on by an opposite force (namely bad food and laziness).

Glad to hear you're getting back at it man, thats what post holiday living is all about.

Congrats on the back to back gym visits. That harnesses one of the most powerful things we have at our disposal during this weight loss: momentum. Good luck this week keeping it going. Its all possible.

And i really like the end of Jan goal, doable for sure. Here's to it!

@Andrew: I'm always amazed how quickly I can right the ship once I start eating right.

@Matt: You're on. But if the game is on the 21st, shouldn't we go until the 14th with a one week blitz, that way the loser can wear the shirt on the day of the game?

I know it has been a while since I have mentioned much of anything anywhere, but in catching up with you it seems that you and I had pretty similar years on the weight loss front.

Coeur d’Alene is beautiful and you should check it out.

Lets kick some butt in 2009. I have a short term challenge for you. It will require a purchase should you lose. From now till Jan 21 we see who can drop the most weight. The loser must go buy a piece of gear for the opposing team and wear it when Mizzou travels to Stillwater to take on OK St.

What do ya think?
