Thanks for this post. I've been following your site on and off for a number of months now, and I've got to say, you've been quite encouraging. I've got around 200 lbs to lose (lost 40 in 2008), and am breaking out of the 4x range now.

Interestingly, my professional career took the opposite route as your own in 2008; after two years of working part-time in my church, I was able to go full time as a pastor in September, which wasn't what I originally planned.

May God bless your vocation, your work to improve your health, and those who read this blog looking to do the same.

I'm very impressed with your progress. I know I hit a rut for the second half of the year last year and it was because I got comfortable. I've had to remind myself not to be and this year I'll hit my goal for sure.

I know you can too.

Well done!

I am really impressed with both your weight loss of 120lbs (congrats!) and the ability to openly review everything you've gone through this year. I think I need to do the same.
I'm in a similar position right now where I have stuck myself within a range 10-20lbs and seriously need to just step it up and get rid of it once and for all.
And sounds like despite all the significant changes, you are doing just fine... I'm looking forward to reading (and commenting, I swear) on your progress this next year. Cheers!
